{"id":3668,"date":"2009-04-08T19:30:09","date_gmt":"2009-04-09T03:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.longridesouth.com\/blog\/?p=3668"},"modified":"2009-04-08T19:31:02","modified_gmt":"2009-04-09T03:31:02","slug":"mar18-temuco-to-entre-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.longridesouth.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/08\/mar18-temuco-to-entre-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Mar.18 &#8211; Temuco to Entre Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We do breakfast\u00a0 on our own in the common kitchen &#8211; banana,\u00a0 mate coca, and chocolate!\u00a0 Got a late start, with lots of goodbyes with the owners, complete with hugs.<\/p>\n<p>We made good time going south on the great, paved Chilean road.\u00a0 Stopped for lunch &#8211; cheeseburger and hot dog.\u00a0 The scenery changes from Illinois to Colorado\/Alaska.\u00a0 We see trees (something we have not seen for ages), hills, more stuff that looks so familiar to us norte-americanos.\u00a0 When we finally turn east after Osorno, it is too late to get\u00a0 through the border, so we stop for the night at a rural hospedage.\u00a0 A real dump, costs us $16 for a little cabin with no hot water.<\/p>\n<p>We sit in the sunshine, then ride to the nearby lakeshore town of Entre Lagos for dinner.\u00a0 When we return to the rural site, we are amazed by the display of stars in the southern sky.\u00a0 A wonderful sight.<\/p>\n<p>I settle for a cold shower,\u00a0 and we fall asleep to the woodland sounds all around us.\u00a0 Like camping\u00a0 the in north woods of Canada.\u00a0 Lots of wildlife moving and calling.\u00a0 It is getting colder here, and the frost is on the pumpkin tonight!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We do breakfast\u00a0 on our own in the common kitchen &#8211; banana,\u00a0 mate coca, and chocolate!\u00a0 Got a late start, with lots of goodbyes with the owners, complete with hugs.
